Industry Master of Science in Engineering

Together with DTU, Technical University of Denmark, we offer the opportunity for you to pursue an Industry Master of Science in Engineering as a part-time study whilst you work 25 hours a week in our Climate Adaptation and Hydraulic Modelling Department. As an Industry Master of Science Engineering student, you get the unique opportunity to complete the master's degree as a part-time study over four years. Alongside your studies, you will gain invaluable work experience at a workplace with an open, collaborative, and empowering culture.

This is a broad, interdisciplinary programme focusing on the technical and environmental sciences, offering several specialised study lines and the possibility to co-design your own education, in this case in collaboration with your employer. After pre-selection for this Graduate job, you will need to apply for admission to DTU.

You will join our Climate Adaptation and Hydraulic Modelling Department

As our new graduate, you will work alongside a team of experienced water professionals who will provide guidance and mentorship as you grow. You will have the flexibility to attend classes and complete coursework on a schedule that allows you to work 25 hours a week.

In our Copenhagen office, we have a team working with climate adaptation and hydraulic modelling to manage stormwater in urban areas. We are 20 people in the department, and 11 of them comprise our hydraulic modelling team. We work with hydraulic models to plan and design cloudburst solutions and stormwater management both on the city scale, catchment scale and local scale in Denmark and the Nordics. The team is a mix of newly graduated engineers and modellers with 15 years of experience.

As our graduate, your work tasks entail:

  • Data collection and data management in GIS
  • Defining input data, e.g. rain series
  • Set up models and define scenarios
  • Model calculations in Mike+ and Mike Flood or in Scalgo
  • Evaluate and assess results
  • Reporting results in graphs, figures, and GIS-maps
  • Presentation of results
  • Be an active part of our department

  • You have obtained or are in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree or are currently studying for a master's degree in climate adaptation and hydraulic modelling and have been introduced to hydraulic modelling
  • Fluency in oral and written English is a prerequisite
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team, and possession of excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: You are a structured and thorough personality and have an interest in data and numerical issues as well as an understanding of sewer systems and urban water drainage.
