Continuing Education – Nutrition for Health and Wellness

Mohawk College offers a variety of programs, courses and workshops through Continuing Education. Courses are offered in a variety of delivery methods including online, in-class and in a blended format.
Courses are scheduled on a part-time basis including evenings, weekends and online. Prospective candidates must be available during these time periods. Continuing Education Instructors teach approximately 3-6 hrs/week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing materials that fulfill the course learning outcomes, planning lessons, developing assessments and exams that reflect the integrated nature of the curriculum.
- Delivering the course(s) as described in the curriculum provided by the Program Manager.
- Ensuring the integrity of the content delivery is upheld.
- Evaluating student progress against the learning outcomes.
- Maintaining records, course materials and utilizing Mohawk data systems for grading, course updates etc.
- Ensuring adherence to Mohawk College’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant educational credentials / experience as follows:
- PSYC10034 – Education in Psychology, specific to behavior change (related to health and wellness)
- HLTH10297 – Certified Health Coach, or in process of being certified
- HLTH10298 – Registered Dietician, Nutrition Coach, or higher education in Nutrition studies
- HLH10299 – Certified Health Coach or Nutrition Coach (with work related to course, and experience with clients)
- 3-5 years of work experience in course subject.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Post-secondary teaching, training and/or experience considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with My Canvas or any learning management system considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
