Student Helper [United States]


 

Summary

The Student Helper will participate in the design and execution of experiments in the field of neuroanatomy, under the guidance of senior lab members and the Principle Investigator. The project will include studies to understand the pattern of anatomical connectivity subserving motivation and decision-making. Training will be provided in immunohistochemistry, microscopy and computational analyses. The Student Helper will also participate in lab management tasks

Job Duties

  • Executes experimental protocols designed by a senior lab member as part of an on going project; this will typically involve immunohistochemistry, microscopy and computational analysis.
  • Acquires, quantifies and interprets primary data, including through microscopy, under the guidance of a senior lab member.
  • Performs a small number of simple lab maintenance and lab management tasks each week.
  • Records work results in written lab notebooks and communicates the data digitally.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current college student with coursework in the biological sciences.
  • Proficient with common software such as spreadsheets, presentation software, search engines, etc.
